My most popular foundry is the one that took the least time to make. When new farm-type events roll around, some people head for custom made foundries tuned specifically for farming event drops.
I thought this was a great scam, so I took my favorite farm foundry (someone else’s), essentially copied it, built it into an EverQuest theme — specifically West Karana, same as my blog — and put that out there. Each time a new event rolls around, I change its name to reference the new event.
Best tips, best reviews, best comments, took me an hour to make it. Tempest took me a month. Fire Sale has taken about three weeks.
Anyway. Current event is the Wonders of Gond — Gond is apparently the god of crafting, so this event centers on crafting. You can make rewards through most crafting professions, as well as garnering supplies from Sword Coast Adventures and drops from killing things near your level. (Ask your local bard or innkeep about “Farming Karana for Gond”!).
The lowest level reward is an expendable 30 second mechanical bug. It races around, preventing you from getting a decent screenshot of it. The top reward is the blacksmith outfit that my character is wearing below. Getting the outfit requires a vast amount of farming and expensive combines.
Or you could just buy it off the auction house, as I did. People pay me astral diamonds to farm stuff in my foundry. I spend those astral diamonds to get the reward directly. THIS IS CAPITALISM!!!
Work for me, farmers! I will rule over you in my colorful regalia!
The secret reward for this event is a rare drop from doing the SPECIAL crafting quest. I used up all my resources trying for it. No luck again 🙁
