Come for the games, stay for the drama.

I just checked my own walks that I always did unsupervised. K-4 was only .2 miles, but then 5-8 was 0.9 and then 9-12 was 0.8 the other direction. Often would walk the 5-8 with friends, but not always. But get myself there I did — even when it was still dark in the morning and 10 degrees with a -15 wind chill, I still walked or rode my bike. Dad was already at work, and we were “poor” and didn’t have a 2nd car so Mom couldn’t have taken me, even if she’d wanted to. Well no, I’m sure she wanted to, but didn’t have a way to do so. Anyway… here were my start an end points. The only route that actually matches was the K-4 one. For 5-8 I’d usually go down Clark and cut over Baldwin to Boynton, since that took you straight to the school’s front door. For high school I’d go up Clark and cut through the school grounds (there was a deliberate access port in the fence in the SE corner of the grounds for this express purpose, after all), rather than following the roads.
