I asked OpenAI’s GPT-3 to generate 31 different videogame ideas, one for each day of Blaugust, each dealing in some way with that particular day of the month. Here’s its idea for August 4th: “Fourt Knight”.
“Fourt Knight” is an action adventure game where you play a lone knight who must save the kingdom from a dark force.
The game is set in a medieval world and you will use your sword and shield to fight your way through hordes of enemies. You will also use your bow to take down enemy archers. There are puzzles to solve and secret areas to explore.
Along the way, you will discover mysterious forts, that, once unlocked, will give you powerful abilities. Among the abilities you can unlock are the ability to double jump, the ability to shoot fireballs from your sword, and the ability to turn invisible. Unfortunately, each of the bosses of the forts will be more difficult to defeat than the last.
Most action adventure games feature mounts, but “Fourt Knight” offers something different: a horse that can transform into a dragon. This will come in handy when you need to fly over large gaps or breathe fire on your enemies. And the dragon the horse turns into is incredibly customizable — you can even choose the color of its scales. That level of customization extends to your knight, which gives you the option to make him look however you want. You can even make him look exactly like Link from “The Legend of Zelda.”
“Fourt Knight” is played from a third person perspective, similar to such famous action adventure games as “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” and “Nioh.” The controls are very simple and easy to learn. You use the left joystick to move, the right joystick to control your camera, the X button to attack, the A button to jump, and the B button to shoot arrows. If you are using a mouse and keyboard, the controls are even simpler: WASD to move, the mouse to control your camera, left mouse button to attack, right mouse button to shoot arrows, and spacebar to jump. The game even has support for blind players, with all the important information being conveyed through audio cues.
Loot only drops when you defeat an enemy, so there is no need to worry about picking up every item you see. There are also no random encounters with enemies — you can see them all on the map, and if you don’t want to fight them, you can simply avoid them. Sometimes, mysterious artifacts will be found after you kill a particularly dangerous enemy. You’ll need them to progress, but they can also be used to buy upgrades for your knight.
Dying in “Fourt Knight” doesn’t mean “Game Over”. You are instead sent back to the last checkpoint you reached. Checkpoints are frequent, so you never lose too much progress when you die. Unfortunately, you will lose all the loot you’ve collected since the last checkpoint, so it’s important to be careful.
There is romance in the game. If you choose, you can pursue a relationship with one of the NPCs. The game doesn’t force this on you, but it’s there if you want it. If you do choose to form a romance, the game will become more difficult, as your NPC partner will often need rescuing. So be warned: if you want a happy ending, you’ll need to be prepared for a challenge.
“Fourt Knight” features a wide variety of weapons from around the world, including swords, shields, bows, and more. You can also find magical weapons that will give you special abilities. There are over 60 different weapons in the game, so you’re sure to find one that suits your playstyle.
The game can be played solo, but if you choose to play online, you’ll be matched up with three other players. You can play through the entire game with them, or just do specific missions together. The game also features a “raid” mode, where you and three other players team up to take down a powerful enemy.
If you buy “Fourt Knight” in the month of Blaugust, you will also get the “Fourt Knight: The Lost Kingdom” expansion for free. This expansion adds a new area to explore, new weapons to find, and new enemies to fight. Otherwise, you can buy the expansion for $9.99.
“Fourt Knight” can be played on any modern computer, but it can also be played on older computers like the Commodore 64. The game is also available on mobile devices, but it’s a bit more expensive there. It costs $19.99 on Steam, $24.99 on the App Store, and $29.99 on Google Play.
“Fourt Knight” is an awesome game that I would recommend to anyone who likes action adventure games. It’s got a great story, cool weapons, and challenging puzzles. The only downside is that it’s a bit short, but it’s still worth the price.
I give “Fourt Knight” four out of five stars.
