The Chronicles of Spellborn will gain a (metric) tonne of features in its upcoming patch, 1.03. A lot of dreams players have are coming true.
Unfortunately (for me), the letter I got from Spellborn was in German. I’ll try to do a little bit of (probably wildly wrong) translation above the fold, and the full letter is in the original German afterward.
– Called “The Scroll of Swords & Münzen”.
– New: Marketplace
– New instance: Exarchyon
Marketplace
– Can use from any shard
– Meant for trading crafting materials and items
– Operated by NPCs from House Silver, the mercantile House
– Items are offered at a fixed price — no bidding

– Search by name
– Price history shows market trends to help find the best deals
Exarchyon
– Exarchyon is the floating headquarters of the “Brotherhood of the Sword”
– Epic quest line starts at level 7 in Hogg-Grat
– Investigate the Brotherhood activities as your explore
– At level 20-25, attack Exarchyon itself in an exciting finale.
New Quest Lines
– In addition to the Exarchyon quest, players levels 20-27 receive two new quest lines.
– At level 20, your character will receive a letter asking for their help in Ringfell.
– At level 27, the Oracle has a quest for you beginning in Brightvale.
– Existing quests optimized by less returning to the Quarterstone quest givers.
New UI Features
– Local chat now appears in chat balloons.
– Icon above your character shows your High House.
– Chat with members of your House with /h.
Further Improvements
– More fame and personal experience points in instances
– Lower Humanoid monster respawn rate on the Parliament and Ringfell shards

Full letter (in German) after the fold.

It’s just one day shy of a week since the folks at Acclaim proudly stated Spellborn would be entering closed beta this very week. Has anyone gotten in yet? And if so, without breaking the NDA, is the stability good? How do you like the new tutorial on the shardship? How fun will it be … Read more
Spellborn dev chat, part II
After the fold is the second half of last Friday’s developer chat. Again, any errors in transcribing it are mine, and for the actual chat right from the mouths of the devs, you can find the full MP3 recording over on Historian’s site.
In this half of the transcript, we learn about what’s coming for PvP, solo and group instances, what’s coming for the end game, how solo friendly the game is, and much, much more.
