Establishing shot on the surface of the Moon. The Earth hangs above them in the darkness. Two separate rails are connected to a power station that is surrounded by solar panels. On each track is a classic convertible car with the top down. Each car has a spacesuited figure in the driver’s seat. One of the figures is DOM. The other one is THE ROCK.
DOM: Hey, Rock. Long time no see.
THE ROCK: Yeah, I was just thinking the same thing. What are you doing out here?
DOM: I’m retired. I race on the Moon now.
THE ROCK: You’re still racing? I thought you would have given that up by now.
DOM: Nah, I can’t stay away from it. It’s in my blood. Plus, there’s nothing else to do out here.
THE ROCK: I hear you. I’m retired too. But I couldn’t stay away from the action either. So I started a security business.
DOM: But there’s no one here to protect!
THE ROCK: That’s where you’re wrong. There are plenty of people here who need protection from themselves. And that’s where I come in.
DOM: Well, I’m glad you’re doing something with your life. But I don’t need protection. I can take care of myself.
THE ROCK: That’s what they all say… until they can’t anymore.
A digital display slowly rises out of the dirt. The display starts counting down from 60.
DOM: What the hell is that?
THE ROCK: It’s a race. You and me, old rivals one last time.
DOM: You’re on.
The display hits zero and the two cars take off. They speed down the tracks, side by side. The Rock starts to pull ahead, but DOM doesn’t give up. He pushes his car to the limit and is catapulted into space just ahead of THE ROCK.
THE ROCK: Dom! You son of a bitch!
But DOM just keeps on going, disappearing into the distance.
DOM: See you next time, Rock!
In 10,000 years, Dom’s car enters orbit around the Moon once more, finally having completed its trip around the solar system. The Rock is waiting.
THE ROCK: I’ve been waiting for you, Dom.
DOM: What took you so long?
THE ROCK: I had to make sure I was retired first. But now that I am, I’m ready for a rematch.
DOM: You’re on!
The two cars take off down the tracks once more, racing towards the Sun. They were never heard from again.
